Hi friends! It’s Courtney here. I recently stayed at this amazing waterfront beach house rental with a group of friends in Washington. It was such a quaint place, I took lots of pictures and thought you’d enjoy a little peek inside! It definitely gave me “coastal grandma style” vibes.
It was adorable as is…but I couldn’t help but imagine all the potential and the things I would love to do if I owned this house!
My mum has shared many times here on the blog about looking for inspiration in many different places to find your own unique style (you can read about it and watch a live video we did about it here ).
It’s easy to get into a design inspiration rut when you see a lot of similar things online… but staying in this house inspired me to think outside the box a bit and notice details I wouldn’t have. may not be taken into account. Stained glass windows, Tiffany style chandeliers, fun patterned wallpaper and other details made this home truly special and memorable! Sometimes, even beyond the specific design style, observing a space can inspire you to create a similar feel or experience your way (like a hanging swing or a cozy breakfast nook!).
I made some mood boards at the end of this article with lots of similar decor sources if you want to get the look! This bedroom (above) was my favorite room in the house!
Enjoy the visit! (You can also see a short video tour here).

In an adorable cottage bedroom… it’s a good time to take a mirror selfie. That’s what I said to myself while taking this photo. 🙂 The mint/sage green wall trim and closet doors in this room inspired me! I don’t know what the paint color is, but Benjamin Moore’s Palladian Blue is a potentially similar color!
I loved the doors and all the crystal doorknobs throughout the house.
The stained glass throughout the house was so pretty! I loved this little dining area. (I found similar Tiffany fixtures online – see those at the end of this article!).
It was the most comfortable space, lots of board games were played around this table.

Goals one day… to have a hanging swing. 🙂 This swing looks like (see more porch swings at the end of this post!).
There were so many beautiful finishing touches around the house… I loved all the archways!
The cutest built-in bed situation. So comfortable!
This hot tub room at the back of the house was so much fun.
The house had several beautiful vintage bathrooms with (I assume) original tiles and wallpaper!
