I have come up with a new way to fit a shelf on a nut. I use my router to make a small adjustment to the thickness of the shelf instead of fine-tuning my nut set with shims to match the thickness of the plywood. This may be standard practice for some carpenters, but it’s new to me.
For 1/4 “deep sockets, I use a 1/4” impact drill bit with bearing. I set the depth of cut of the tip to an absolute minimum and experimented. Once I have a perfect fit, I sparse all the shelves. –George Davis
