I’m back to share a quick progress report on our bathroom renovation! As you may have seen last week, we’ve started a ‘month-long makeover’ here in our basement bathroom. We’re already halfway through the month, so we’ll definitely be jostling here in the second half to put this piece together for sure!
We were a week late at the start of the month, so it really is a three week bathroom renovation! The goal is to give it the impression of belonging to our house, with a fresher and more coastal atmosphere.
Disclaimer: Since this is a ‘real time’ makeover, these are progress photos taken at dusk with all of our lights on, so stick with me to get the vision here! 🙂
Last week my husband painted the walls and Courtney put our first coat of paint on the dressing table. I just supervised LOL! The walls were sort of a drab white we didn’t paint them when we moved in so a fresh coat of Benjamin Moore Simply White made the space so clean! It also gives us a blank slate for the stencil design, which should give the space a fun updated look.
Vanity was not my style at all, but my hope was to take it from what it was to maybe more an old painted cabinet that has become a vanity. I can already say that the milk paint by Miss Mustard Seed in the color Bergère gives new life to this piece! We’re not replacing granite at this time, so we’ve removed hues like the vanity color, wall color, and new faucet colors from the stone to tie the room together.
I already like the vanity so much more, even though we haven’t even finished the painting or put the hardware. Once we add the lovely new faucets and all the finishing touches like the adorable lights, I think it’s going to be cute!
Who would have thought?
If you can’t remember what vanity looked like before?
This is what this bathroom looked like just a few days ago …
And here’s another look below to find out where we are right now! Next steps are to paint the stencil, finish the vanity, turn off the faucets, hang the new lights, towel rails and mirrors and accessories!
Next Friday, we will come back with another progress report. (We’ll also share more about vanity painting!)
