Christmas House Tour 2021 – The Inspired Room

Mbad week after Christmas! I LOVE this time of year, it might be my favorite week all year round. The planning, the pre-Christmas hustle and bustle and a busy work season are over and we can just relax, sit by the fire, eat a few treats 🙂 and stay in our pajamas all day! What’s not to like?

This year we had a very special gift to enjoy this week. A VERY WHITE CHRISTMAS! These are quite rare in the NW so we savor every snowflake. Sitting by the fire, of course.

Today I wanted to share some of the photos we took around the house in the week leading up to Christmas. Hope you got to see our Christmas video (you can watch it here) but if you wanted to see the house in photos, this is the post! I will do a separate article to share our snowy Christmas! It was a pretty magical scene.

If you’re logging in right after you’ve been away for awhile or maybe you’re here for the very first time, WELCOME! I’ve blogged here at The Inspired Room for 14 and a half years. The photos in this article are of our new home! We just moved here this fall, just in time to make ourselves comfortable for Christmas.

This house is a dream come true, I talked about it HERE (see all new articles about the house here) and of course I will be sharing more about it over the weeks, months and years! We have so many plans for this little house, we just love it! It’s going to be a fun year ahead as we continue to settle in and start some projects big and small to make this our home forever.

So many exciting things to come, but for now I just want to share my new home as it was the week before Christmas! You will probably notice that not all the parts are shown in this article or in our video. This time, we did not decorate and photograph every room. Some years yes, others no. This year, just moving in and settling in, that was enough for me!

If you want to see more rooms and how we’re going to make this house our own (and a cozy place for our family as well as my parents too!) Stick around, I’ll talk about the plans for our kitchen. , dining room, telling you about some plans for an addition to the house (!) and other updates that I think will be a lot of fun!

Hope you will follow!

Now welcome to the cozy place we call home!

One of the reasons we love the house so much is its location. We moved to a lovely island about an hour and a half from our old home in Seattle. We loved our old home, but it became clear to us that this was the season to move on. We found a charming little house with stunning views of the other islands and the sea as well as the most charming “Nantucket vibes” neighborhood. If you’ve been following me for a while, you will know that these two are amazing dreams come true for me! I can’t help but pinch myself for living here. The last two years have been a bit difficult, so ending this year settling in such a beautiful place is truly an unexpected gift.
