The $ 1,199 Electrolux EFLS527UTT is an excellent front-loading washing machine. It combines exceptional design with fantastic performance and numerous functions, including a dedicated dispenser for laundry detergent pods. It didn’t work as well at removing stains as the $ 1,349 Editors’ Choice award winner, but it got so close that there isn’t much difference.
The EFLS527UTT has a slightly smaller internal capacity: 4.3 cubic feet compared to the 4.4 cubic feet of the EFLS627UTT. But, again, it’s too small to notice. Get Electrolux EFLS527UTT – it’s a great washing machine.

I really like the look of the EFLS527UTT. It has an attractive dark gray finish and you can stack the matching dryer on top of it if you need to save space.
You can save some money on this washing machine if you get the blank EFLS527UTT (model number EFLS527UIW). It is identical to the EFLS527UTT, except for the white finish, but costs a hundred dollars less.
Curious how the EFLS527UTT compares to some similar front loading washers? Here is a handy chart:
Washing machines in comparison
Titanium; (white for $ 1,099)
Titanium; (white for $ 1,199)
Blue and platinum; (white for $ 899)
4.3 cubic feet
4.4 cubic feet
4.5 cubic feet
# of cycles

85 kWh / year
105 kWh / year
Dimensions (width, height, depth)
Clearly the EFLS527UTT is very similar to the EFLS627UTT, but Electrolux’s 500 series washing machine has a slightly lower cubic foot capacity and a slightly lower expected annual power consumption in kilowatt hours. Both Electrolux washing machines have lower internal capacity and fewer cleaning cycles compared to $ 999. It’s something to think about if you have a large family (and you really need a larger capacity washing machine) is like to choose from a number of different cycles.
Unlike the Electrolux EFLS527UTT, the EFLS627UTT has no SmartBoost. According to this Electrolux product page, SmartBoost “presses water and detergent before the cycle starts, maximizing the cleaning power of the detergent.”
