1. Find pleasure in your daily life at home

Life can get so hectic, even in summer! We can so easily get into the habit of always working, cleaning or taking care of the children’s needs and even not slowing down to enjoy life at home! I believe that integrating the five senses is one of the simplest and most effective ways to transform even the mundane everyday tasks and moments of life.

2. Create connection opportunities

Moments of connection with our children or family can sometimes be a challenge. The seasons of life pass quickly, and what we do in each one matters! But don’t worry, being intentional doesn’t have to feel complicated or make you feel guilty when you can’t do everything. Creating a home should bring us joy, so taking care of where we live shouldn’t scare us! It is the practical decisions we make on a daily basis that begin to transform the way we live and how we feel about our environment! It is not about creating a perfect life, but rather an intention and a purpose.

In her post 5 Simple Ways to Create an Intentional Home, Robyn from Robyn’s French Nest shared ways she’s learned to be more intentional around her home lately. She encourages giving yourself grace as you learn and grow! We don’t have to change everything at once, simple intentional (and even imperfect!) changes are so significant. You will love his suggestions.

4. Plan your future home

Are you at a stage in your life where you are considering downsizing, or maybe you dream of living in a new place one day, or just want to make your life easier on your next move? Planning your future home with intention will make all the difference.

My husband and I downsized and moved last fall to our empty little dream house and location! It was such a big decision for us to leave our last home, but it was the right decision for us. We found exactly what we wanted in our new home during an unexpected whirlwind of events! Luckily, we had already thought long and hard about what we would want in a future home if we ever had to move, so we were able to act pretty quickly and seize the opportunity as soon as we saw it!
