Custom Size Bed

Some people find having a custom size bed fascinating, but it might be troublesome to them since it is problematic to find bedding in this kind of bed. So, think twice before purchasing a custom-made bed.

Single & Twin Beds

Twin or single beds are often the first preference to some people as much as the children’s rooms or guest rooms are concerned. The narrowness of this bed helps it to fit even in the smallest room. Some people use single beds as bunk beds also. Generally, the width and length of this type of bed are 39″ x 75″. People find it affordable for its narrowness. Another reason for its popularity is twin sheets are they are not much expensive. Some adults do not feel comfortable with twin beds for their standard measurements, as some manufacturers do not follow the norms of ‘standard’ size. So, at first, the buyer should get to know about the measurements.

But when it comes to twin extra long beds, they are 5” longer than the standard size twin beds. The overall dimension of the bed is 39” x 80″. We can utilize these beds as singles and also give these a structure of king-size beds. But the disadvantage of purchasing this type of beds is that it is not easy to get these beds in the desired patterns.

Double or Full-Size Beds

These were commonly used by two persons till the 1960s. They are 15” wider than a twin bed. But its width which is only 54″ and the length which is 75″, do not allow both to have much personal space, and it is obviously not comfortable for an adult who is very tall. The width per person is 27”, which means they provide only 27” of space to sleep to two adults. They can be easily fitted in small rooms and one of the best types of beds for a single person who is not much tall. When it comes to the price, the sheets cost less than that of a queen or king-size bed.

Queen Size Beds

Being 60″ wide and 80″ long, these beds are really very comfortable for adults. They are 21” wider and 5” longer and 6” wider than a twin bed. The width per person is 30”. These types of beds would do well for a guest room and small master bedrooms. Besides, a couple would love to have this kind of bed in their room to enjoy some memorable moments together. Sheets as well as blankets are easily available and are not that costly. The best thing about queen size beds is that they don’t take too much floor space. The con is, you may find this bed narrow for regular use. They provide only 30” space to sleep to a person. The users should purchase standard or queen pillows to fit in as well. It is recommended to check the dimensions of the bedding properly to ensure it fits on your bed.

King Size Beds

You may find the process of buying a king-size bed confusing as it has 4 different names. A standard king (4” wider) and a California king (4” longer) are also popular as an Eastern king and a Western king respectively. They provide the same amount of space to sleep to two people as in a twin bed.

Eastern King beds are 76″ wide and 80″ long. They are 16” wider than a Queen bed. The width per person is 38”. This is available with two box springs or frames and a mattress which makes it easily moveable. Easily available in stores, this is the most comfortable type of bed for two persons. The disadvantage is that it is very difficult for a single person to move this bed through narrow spaces, small rooms, or take upstairs. Another problem is that a very tall person might not feel comfortable in it. When it comes to the price, bedding is pretty expensive. You might also need 2 to 3 Queen or King Pillows for the bed. The interesting thing is that if you push two twin beds of extra-long size together, they become an Eastern King bed of the same size. For couples and two people sharing a bed, it is the best way to enjoy the experience of having an Eastern King bed in the room. As stated above, it is important to look carefully for the sheets of the right size that fits perfectly on your bed.

Western King Beds are comfortable for tall people for its measurements (the overall dimension is 72″ wide and 84″ long). They are 12” wider and 4” longer than a Queen bed. The width per person is 36”. Commonly available in the stores, we can purchase it with a mattress and two half-width box springs to easily move it from one place to another. It is troublesome to move it via narrow and small spaces, but still, it is a good choice for tall people. Also, it is wide enough for two people to sleep comfortably. Unarguably, it is the best kind of bed one can ever have.

What matters the most is having the correct measurement of your bed to ensure getting the sheets of the right size.
