WWe’ve all been through a few roaring years, but I think this holiday season is a time to bring back some of our favorite traditions and rediscover some of the joy of welcoming, giving and bringing together those we love. Walmart truly is a unique place to enjoy the hallway patio so you can have a vacation to your heart’s content! I have found the cutest and most affordable gifts at Walmart, as well as the on-trend decor to make my new home cozy and inviting. You’ll find sources for everything featured in this article, along with a summary of some great freebies at the end.
Thanks Walmart for sponsoring this article!
If you are new here at The Inspired Room my husband and I are newly empty nests and we just moved to a beautiful island near the San Juans in the cutest little beach house. We love it here! This will be our first holiday season here, so while everything isn’t set up just yet, it’s still fun to make a few corners feel festive!
This room is my new office. I love it! I come here everyday for peace and quiet, I like having a place not only to be organized for work but also to be able to think and create quietly (I am a big introvert!). I will share this space with my family and kids, however, whenever they want to visit. Ha! So it is in this spirit that I created a cozy and festive winter corner where I can daydream, create, read and write, but also as a guest place for others to relax or spend the night!
I found these adorable winter scene flannel sheets at Walmart, they are SO COZY! They would make a wonderful gift, but I am saving them for winter guests! When my kids were little, we always bought them cute flannel sheets for their bedrooms every winter, which also brings back such fond memories. Flannel plaid pillow cases are so soft too, perfect for all winter long. They’re also reversible to solid, which is fun for the versatility!
I am in love with these versatile and charming wooden beads. I don’t like buying a ton of holiday specific decorations, I just don’t have room to put things away. But these beads will be so much fun to use all year round! They look like the beach. I can also use them for events like Courtney’s wedding. GOAL! I’ve seen things like this in shops and holiday gift shops for a lot more so this was a great find.
The lamb ears garland is such a sweet, pretty and versatile find! It’s unique and could be a special accent for the table, around a window or a mantle while on vacation or anytime! TO LIKE! I can see it’s so pretty for the wedding too, not just for Christmas.
A super easy way to decorate for Christmas is to put faux or real greenery in baskets. Bonus points if you have a darling basket like this! I bought these cute soaking white baskets from Walmart this fall and have used them for so many things already! Easy, versatile and affordable decoration, it’s my style!
This little table pine has already come in a basket! I loved that it was small enough to fit anywhere. I strung it on with these battery operated copper string lights that I use all over the house. I also like to add them to libraries. They add such a nice cozy glow and have different settings (I love the slow fade) and can be set on a timer.
These large woven tree cushions on the window seat could go anywhere in the house! Oh my gosh, aren’t they cute? I couldn’t believe how beautiful they are, so much texture and I love the tree pattern. They come with a flatter pillow inside, but they have a zipper so I always add my own soft pillow to make them bigger. Super cute! They look so much more expensive. I love that Walmart has trendy items at a lower cost.
I saw a funny meme the other day that was about someone who spotted something cute while shopping for the holiday season and the caption read, “I know someone who would LOVE this! … ME!” MDR! It happens to me too. I love finding pretty decorations, comfy slippers and throws and other things for myself, guests AND gifts!
We have fun settling into our new home! Being here in time for the holidays makes it all the more special. Thank you for being here with us as we make it our home!
