New Entry Console Cabinet (+ the hack that saved me $1500!)

Hiii! Kylee here today. This week, I arranged my entry space. I have some art on the way and I plan to eventually paint the walls and doors. I will be sharing more of this space with you soon, but for now I wanted to show you my new cabinet! My original plan for this wall involved a bench, but I underestimated the length of the wall, so the bench I just appeared looked small. So I started looking for something more substantial, preferably with storage.

In my hunt for the perfect entryway piece, I took a look at several similar black pieces that I loved (I’ll be doing another post soon sharing some of my favorites!). The only thing was that to get one for as long as I wanted it would cost at least two thousand dollars, which I was (reluctantly) willing to do.

During my research, I came across this piece of furniture that had the vibe I was looking for, but it just wasn’t long enough. Suddenly, I had an awareness!

I could double them! Buying two of these cabinets and putting them together cost me less than $ 500 (1/4 the cost of similar parts I was about to buy!). Also, if I ever get bored of it, I have two smaller pieces that I can use in a different way. They are also available in white, natural and brown to suit any style. There is also a 3-door version which would be perfect for a TV or for a smaller space.

This is the room I was originally leaning towards and it looks so much like it. Sure, the arches are cute, but not worth $ 1500 to me 🙂 Moral of the story: think outside the box!
