Our New Dining Room + Simple Cozy Fall Tablescape

Our new dining room + simple and cozy fall table decor

Tit’s cooling in the air and the turning of the leaves signals it’s time for one of my favorite fall nesting rituals. EAT SOUP! We eat a lot of soup from fall to winter. Do you?

We are still in the process of settling into our dining room but it is already quite comfortable. I wanted a checkered tablecloth in a fall color palette and found this one really pretty at Walmart. It’s a bob so we just turned it on an angle, it’s a relaxed look that I really like! I love the way it brings fall colors but still shows off the table too.

Walmart makes it so easy to decorate affordably for the seasons.

Thank you Walmart for sponsoring this article!

Walmart had quite a few other cute things for the table! I have beautiful woven jute chargers and a wonderful Dutch oven that we can use for our fall soups and stews. It’s pretty enough to serve at the table too!

I loved this adorable green water glass vase. It’s just the right coastal fall vibe for this space. The mix of materials adds so much interest to a room, so I always try to add something shiny with my more comfortable textures like woven chargers, baskets and tablecloth and soft napkins.

I added an extra touch of fun color with my teal taper candle (the same candles are tied here – my candlestick is antique but here is a set of two gold candlesticks).

Courtney and I were shopping at a local grocery store and thought these lovely fruits and mums would look so lovely scattered around the table. Simple, relaxed and organic is my favorite mix. It works for me to keep it simple because I don’t want to have to fuss or think too much about everything! Life is stressful enough, so let’s not make decorating so difficult for ourselves. 🙂 Use what you have and can find, take your time, it doesn’t have to be perfect at all. Just have fun with it.

Creating a cozy atmosphere in your home shouldn’t be stressful, you know?

My husband jokes with me when I put real fruits and vegetables on a table saying that he loves it because they also serve as a snack. It’s okay with me. If you can eat your centerpiece, that much less garbage and so much less to put in bins and bins later. Ha!

You’re welcome. I know you like my simple decorating tips. MDR.

Small soaked baskets are also sourced from Walmart. Can you even handle how cute they are? Natural woods and whites look great together anytime of the year. My favorite decorating items can be used in any season and for many purposes. I’ll have fun with these baskets! Today, they are holding moms in pots. At Christmas I bet they’ll be holding holly or evergreens! In the spring, they might contain tulips or spring flowers. They are also handy for circling just about anything. They would even make pretty trash cans. Just line them up with a can or plastic bag!

Don’t like striped tassel napkins and rope knot napkin rings? I love the subtle nod to the fall. The napkin rings are so adorable. They were a bit delayed in shipping so they weren’t there when we took pictures but I added some pictures with them so you can see how pretty they are!

Napkin rings aren’t a must-have on an everyday table, but they’re definitely a nice finishing touch. I mostly use white dishes (I already had my own but Walmart has some here too) so it’s fun to have a variety of napkins and napkin rings to mix and match depending on the mood or the season you are in!
