ohour family Christmas reunion did not go as planned, but we received an unexpected gift. A white Christmas! Snow in the Pacific Northwest is rare, but it’s even more unusual on Christmas Day so it was a great sight to see! And unlike most snow in the northwest, this time it didn’t melt right away.
In fact, we always savor every moment of this snow-covered gift, mostly lying curled up in bed or lounging by the fireside with hot drinks in hand. It was 12 degrees this morning, so we’re happy enough inside, looking around to enjoy the magical winter wonderland beyond our windows. Basically living the best life of a homebody.
With the risk of looming storms in the northwest and other situations that arose, our children and extended family were not home for Christmas. We really missed having them here, but it was a prudent move to keep everyone safe. We know many families have suffered much worse this season, so we are grateful for the health and safety of our family!
The beauty of the snow, the comforts of our new home, and our fun “Christmas zoom gathering” made it a special day anyway.
I shared our Christmas house as it was the week before Christmas in a previous post, you can see it here!
Welcome to a preview of our White Christmas and the winter wonderland we are enjoying this week.
Hope you had a wonderful and safe vacation!
