Simple Bathroom Mood Board: Makeover in a Month!

Simple bathroom mood board: makeover in a month!

Need inspiration for a home renovation? Today three of my blogger buddies and I are kicking off a fun August series that we call Makeover in a month! Every Friday in August (and today!), We will unveil a new project undergoing a makeover. My makeover will take place in our bathroom in the basement.

What’s my plan? I will take that bathroom below dated and dull at courageous cottage charm over the next three weeks, using much of what’s already in the room.

Here’s what to expect! The rest of our group may have already started their transformation, so you can see their early projects today. BLESS the organized overachievers in this world, I really aspire to be like these amazing women. But because I’m a rebel, always a little late and forever walking to the beat of my own design schedule, LOL, my first bathroom project will actually start in the next few days and you can see it NEXT Friday!

I’m sharing my ‘bathroom mood board’ today so you can get a feel for where I’m going with this project. This moodboard is our general inspiration, but we can be inspired to change some things as we go. I call this a simple makeover because, as I mentioned, it won’t be a fancy makeover. I’m going to focus on some fairly straightforward upgrades, most of us can tackle on our own in a short period of time, without hiring (or hiring very little help!).

Sometimes simple projects are the best. It’s nice to feel that you can progress quickly, even if you can’t completely redo a part. We add adorable lighting, turn off faucets, and paint our walls and existing vanity. There may even be a stencil project involved just to give it a bit more Spicy. No promise of how it will turn out, however. Hahaha :).

It would probably be quite easy to change out the vanity and add a new countertop, if one wanted a whole new look. But we decided this was a project that we could tackle in the future if or when we want to do more in this room. The floor and shower tiles will also stay, we can work with it and it’s good quality so it really doesn’t * need * to be replaced. I’m glad to see how much we can improve this room without removing everything.

Hell, on the one hand it seems like a simple project, but the more I think about it, I feel like we have a lot to do. So can we make it happen? Find out next Friday how our first project is going! I have never participated in One Room Challenge type activities because it’s too much pressure, haha, but yet we are there!

Each of the four participants will inform each of their projects every Friday. Then in three weeks you will be able to see all completed projects in the final messages! I’m going to share how this bathroom is transformed from what it looks like now in reveal (scheduled for the last Friday in August).

Are you ready to get inspired (and maybe tackle some projects at home this month)? Let’s go!
