Six Simple Secrets for a Shiny Sink

Today, I’m sharing more of my favorite kitchen cleaning tips, along with six simple secrets to keeping your sink shiny!

Six simple secrets to a shiny sink

A clean sink will not only make your kitchen look fresh and pretty, it will make YOU happy!

Find my tips, DIY gentle cleaning paste recipe, and scroll through the sources below.

1. Keep your sink free of dishes.

Make sure that dishes do not pile up in the sink. The sink should be a temporary place to put items while you are busy cooking or clearing the table, not a place to put them away. Whenever you have a moment to hand wash them or put them in the dishwasher, do it! Don’t leave them overnight! This habit will help you keep your sink much cleaner.

2. Do not keep clean dishes in your dishwasher.

If you leave clean dishes in your dishwasher, dirty dishes will collect in the sink and on the counter, making your sink more prone to scuffs and stains. Empty the dishwasher of clean dishes first thing in the morning and make sure it’s empty enough before dinner to be able to put the rest of the day’s dishes straight into the dishwasher, keeping your sink cooler and cleaner.

3. Clean up quickly and polish regularly.

Use a toxin-free cleanser and wipe off, especially after cooking or messy projects. For a quick paste, you can sprinkle baking soda around the sink and then spray with Thieves Household Cleaner (this is the cleanser I use for everything, it’s toxin-free and concentrated, so you don’t use than a cap in a 16-ounce spray bottle filled with water, or dilute less as desired, that’s about $ 1 a bottle). Scrub with a washbasin brush or sponge and rinse.
