URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser Review

We purchased the URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser so our expert reviewer could put it to the test at her home. Keep reading for our full product review.

Shopping for a diffuser can be overwhelming, to say the least. There are countless options—each with myriad features, design aesthetics, and price points. At the end of the day, however, there are a few key features to consider before investing in one. What’s the runtime? What’s the water tank capacity? Is it hard to clean? We purchased a URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser to figure out how it stacks up against other diffusers we’ve tested. Read on to see our findings.

Design: Sleek and sturdy

URPOWER’s 300ml diffuser sports a compact, cylindrical design, standing six inches tall and four inches wide. The included AC adaptor is six feet long, giving you plenty of flexibility for household placement and the body of the diffuser is made out of plastic, making it fairly sturdy in the event of an accident (say, should it take a tumble from your nightstand).

The diffuser has two buttons on the front—one that controls color and light settings, and the other which controls the timer feature. The diffuser lights up, seamlessly oscillating between seven different colors in a calming manner. Many similar products offer color-changing lights, but the URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser gives you the option to change the color intensity from bright to dim. This is a handy feature, as a brightly glowing humidifier or diffuser might not be appropriate in all settings. If you prefer your diffuser to not be lit up, the light feature can also be turned off.

Operation: Exactly what you’d expect

Setting up the URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser is a breeze. The upper cap is easy to remove and resecure, making refills no big thing. Of course, the diffuser has a really large tank—it can hold up to 300ml of water at a time—so you may not have to refill it all that often. To make filling the URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser even easier, it comes with a labeled measuring cup to ensure you add the appropriate amount of water. (Plus, the spout of the cup is just the right size, so you don’t have to worry about spilling water everywhere because all you had on hand was a large Pyrex measuring cup.) The addition of a measuring cup is in no way a deciding factor on whether or not you should buy this diffuser, but it’s a definite bonus.

We used the diffuser on each of the three timed settings and it ran like clockwork.

URPOWER’s instructions recommend adding two to three drops of essential oil per 100ml of water. After reviewing a couple different diffuser models, we found this to be the standard suggestion; however, if you want a stronger scent, you can certainly add more. The URPOWER model releases steam at a slight angle, and we found that this helped fragrance the room much quicker than diffusers that release steam in a more upright manner. We tested this diffuser with two drops of a citrus-based essential oil, and it made the whole room smell like we’d just cut up oranges.

Activating the diffuser is easy: press the mist button and it starts humidifying instantly. The diffuser has a built-in timer and four settings: sixty minutes, three hours, six hours, or continuous. We used the diffuser on each of the three timed settings and it ran like clockwork.

According to URPOWER’s product specifications, the device has a coverage range of 215 square feet for aromatherapy and 108 square feet for humidification. Our testing can vouch for the aromatherapy range; we could detect the citrus essential oil two rooms from where we placed the diffuser. Cleaning up is fairly easy, too; the upper cap screws off and the design of the water tank lets you drain it without any spillage.

Price: Surprisingly low for such a feature-rich model

Low-price diffusers are typically lacking features and custom settings, but the URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser offers the best of both worlds. A large, 300ml water tank—which delivers eight hours of runtime—also means you don’t have to refill it as often as smaller counterparts which often cost just as much.

Competition: Different price tiers

InnoGear Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser: The URPOWER 300ml Essential Oil Diffuser may be a little more costly than the InnoGear Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser, but it offers 3x the water capacity and 2x the aromatherapy coverage area. Additionally, it boasts features the InnoGear doesn’t, like different timer settings and more control over its colored lights. The one major feature the InnoGear has over the URPOWER is that you can alternate between continuous and intermittent misting. Additionally, the InnoGear offers an 18-month warranty while the URPOWER offers a 12-month warranty. All that said, however, the URPOWER still comes out on top thanks to worthwhile features and a price that’s less than $10 more than the InnoGear.

VicTsing 300ml Cool Mist Essential Oil Diffuser: On the flipside, the VicTsing 300ml Cool Mist Essential Oil Diffuser is a more expensive alternative to the URPOWER model. Despite a $10 difference in price, the midrange URPOWER does manage to offer a majority of the same features, including a high-capacity water tank and extensive aromatherapy coverage. Additionally, we found that it actually scented a room quicker and was easier to refill/empty. The main thing to consider when choosing between these two models is design—the distinctly shaped VicTsing is available in a variety of wood grain laminates, while the cylindrical URPOWER is all about the LEDs. Either way, you’ll be getting roughly the same amount of runtime.

Final Verdict

Multiple settings and a $20 price tag? You can’t go wrong.

The URPOWER diffuser has features aplenty, including multiple timer settings, light intensity controls, and variable mist settings. Given the model’s $20 price tag, we were impressed by its customizability and would suggest it to anyone looking to replace their outdated diffuser or those just getting into aromatherapy.
