Use a Countersink As a Depth Stop

IIf you have an adjustable countersink bit (such as Insty-Bit), you can loosen the setscrew and slide off the collar, then turn it so that the flat side is facing the work. Tighten it where necessary to limit the stroke of the tip to the desired depth. –Brian MacAllister
