Zumper Welcomes Former Uber & CloudKitchens Design Executive, Shalin Amin, as Chief Experience Officer

Over the past eight years at Zumper, we have grown our exceptional team to over 200 employees in five offices across the country. Together, we’ve built the largest private rental market in the United States In 2020 alone, more than 80 million people will use Zumper. In response to this growth, we are building a world class leadership team and today we are delighted to share that Shalin Amin has joined Zumper as the first Chief Experience Officer.

Head of product, brand and innovative design, Shalin brings with him nearly 20 years of experience helping technology brands to create engaging and meaningful relationships with customers. At Zumper, he will be responsible for improving the end-to-end user experience, scaling the team, and overseeing our two-way market.

Shalin started his career as a product and brand consultant in San Francisco and New York, designing user interfaces for companies like eBay, Condé Nast, Warner Music, Hearst, Gilt Groupe and The Wall Street Journal. In 2010 he ventured out to create socialize.it; a mobile start-up that transparently creates photo albums based on the location, time and date of an event.

This experience ultimately led him to Uber, where he redesigned the award-winning driver app and set the bar for design at Uber. Over the next six years, Shalin continued to manufacture products and created a comprehensive design discipline collectively focused on human-centered practice, integrating all aspects of design, from product to research to design. brand and marketing.
